LOST

April 7, 2010

so we’re in the final season of LOST. there are those who are still hating the series, others are still loving it, and there are some of us just along for the ride (i fall in the loving/ride category). here’s my thoughts on last night’s episode…

(if you don’t want to be spoiled don’t go any further)

leave it to a desmond centric episode to answer yet confuse things. seems as if we’re starting to see the blurring of the two realities. and wouldn’t you know it, that mrs. widmore already knows everything that’s going on, but doesn’t she always? there’s very little island developments, aside from seeing that widmore has plans for desmond to probably turn a key or push a button again.

i think we did get some clarification on one thing. the ‘flash sideways’ reality seems to be, what would have happened if the bomb went off. not only does daniel basically say as much, but this sheds some light on the first episode of the season. when juliet was dying in sawyer’s arms and she whispers to him that ‘it worked’, she was near dying or at least losing consciousness. perhaps she was experiencing the other reality? it would seem to make sense because of what we see happen to both charlie and desmond. i’ve heard and read some people say that they think the ‘flash sideways’ are what happens if mib (man in black) gets off the island. seems that we can put that theory to rest. course this is all speculation till we get something slightly more firm on screen.

what did you think about the episode?

7 questions i hope we get answered (but not holding my breath)
1. who are adam and eve?
2. why does it seem that certain people have ‘powers’ (ie Desmond, Hurley, Walt)?
3. who were/are jacob and mib (man in black)?
4. what are the ‘flash sideways’?
5. what’s the deal with the island under water?
6. what are the whispers?
7. did pressing the button really save the world?

what else should be on the list that i missed? (i’ll be updating these as answers are revealed).
